Este miércoles un grupo de trabajadores ocupaba la tienda insignia de Zara en La Coruña para denunciar la precariedad laboral de los obreros de montaje y reforma de las tiendas del grupo Inditex. Mario Maceiras, de la Federación de la Construcción y Madera de la CIG (Confederación Intersindical Galega), habla de un sector con jornadas interminables, bajos salarios y presión patronal para evitar la organización sindical de los obreros.
– Ocupasteis el local insignia de Zara en la Coruña el mismo día en que Inditex daba a conocer que su beneficio nieto había aumentado en 7% en 2017?
– Queríamos denunciar que esos resultados del grupo, que ese incremento de 1.300 millones de euros de beneficio, tienen como víctimas los trabajadores de la construcción y reforma de tiendas, que son lo que se llama sector Contract. Es un sector relativamente novedoso y pujante, con futuro, llamado a ser importante en el sector de la construcción. Ahora incluso está en una situación de desregulación tanto a nivel de salarios como de condiciones laborales. Se trabaja fundamentalmente para Inditex pero también entran otras firmas, como pode ser H&M, mango, Moviestar…y brillan por su ausencia los derechos laborales. La organización sindical de los trabajadores está casi prohibida en la práctica.
-¿ De que condiciones estamos hablando?
– Jornadas interminables, de 12 y hasta 16 horas diarias de trabajo; encadenamiento de viajes para levantar tiendas por todo el mundo, prácticamente acabas de llegar a casa y ya tienes que coger un avión para ir a trabajar a otra parte del mundo. Hay gente que pasó seis meses sin ver a la familia. Antes había unas remuneraciones económicas que en cierta medida compensaban, pero ya no es así. No sólo desaparecen beneficios y complementos que conllevaban esos trabajos sino que prácticamente estás en peores condiciones que un obrero que trabaje en la Coruña.
Otro tema que preocupa es lo de la seguridad y salud laboral en las obras. La dispersión de las obras hace difícil hacer un seguimento en este campo. Y a todo esto se añade el fraude en las horas extraordinarias y la fiscalidad…
– Esta no es la primera ocupación que realizáis para denunciar este tipo de situación. En agosto del año pasado realizasteis una acción similar. Y en ese mes incluso la CIG entregó a José Manuel Queijero (responsable de GOA Invest, SL, la construtora y promotora de Inditex) una plataforma reivindicativa…
– Eran 15 puntos, que me entendíamos que podían servir para ir avanzando de cara a normalizar el sector del contract. Mas no se nos respondió, es más, incluso ciertos empresarios nos comentaron que había orden de romper todo tipo de relación con la CIG e impedir la creación de comités de empresa. No están dispuestos a ayudar a regular este sector, por lo que tuvimos que reactivar la campaña reivindicativa.
-Hablas de que es un sector con dificultades para la organización de los trabajadores en la defensa de los sus derechos.
– Es un sector que en Galicia es de en torno a 200 o 300 empresas y entre 3.500 y 5.000 trabajadores. En todo ese tejido y excepto una o dos casos, no hay comité de empresa, no hay representación sindical. Estamos intentando poner en marcha esa organización de los trabajadores y encontramos una resistencia desproporcionada por parte del empresariado. En aquellos sitios donde se consigue convocar elecciones sindicales, los empresarios activan candidaturas de empresa o incluso llegan a despedir a quien se presente por la CIG. Quieren atajar propuestas que sean efectivas para los trabajadores.
– La acción de este miércoles quería visibilizar la otra realidad de Inditex, su cara B.
– Este problema no se limita la Inditex, este sector trabaja también para otras franquicias y multinacionales; pero nació en torno a Inditex y en Inditex está en buena medida la posibilidad de solucionar muchos de los problemas. Desde ese grupo dan unas cifras de cientos de millones de euros de beneficios y debemos tener claro que 9 de cada 10 de esos euros proceden de las ventas en tiendas. Y los que montan y reforman las tiendas por todo el mundo están en las condiciones que están, de explotación. Nosotros hablamos de explotación pero no sólo la CIG empleamos ese término. La Fiscalía argentina imputó una subcontrata de Zara por explotar trabajadores, la subcontrata que promueve la obra que ocupamos este miércoles.
